Vandaar uit ging de groep van net over 20 personen, onder leiding van boswachter Lex Querelle van Natuurmonumenten, op pad. Het was nog helemaal donker dus veel foto’s heb ik toen niet kunnen maken. Vandaag een thuiswedstrijd tegen Xinix. Geen team van blinden of slechtzienden, ook geen oogverblindend mooie vrouwen, maar een regulier cafévoetbalteam uit omgeving Dussen. Een doorgaans lastige tegenstander waarbij hun creatieve middenveld de doorslag kan geven.

Voor ondergetekende een wedstrijd stopperen, gaatjes dichtlopen in dit geval. De eerste helft werd het middenveld van Xinix goed ontregeld door ons middenveld inclusief inschuivende voorstopper. Echte kansen hebben beide partijen niet gehad, alhoewel onze keeper een paar keer oplettend keepte. Een nulnul bij rust, waar meer in had gezeten.

Na rust namen we meer bezit van de middenveld, kregen kansen, maar maakten ze niet af. Er vielen een drietal ballen goed achter onze verdediging, waarbij één van die ballen plots de 0-1 opleverde. Daarna claimde Xinix een penalty, zonder resultaat en terecht zonder resultaat. Dat de middenvelder mijn pad kruiste was min of meer zijn probleem, ik liep gewoon door… Het vertrouwen aan onze zijde zorgde ervoor dat we de ingezette lijn voorzetten, achterin met drie man, mannetje meer op het middenveld en veel creativiteit.

Fraaie aanval werd na een pass van Stan goed afgerond door Tim, een voorzet van Tim werd vakkundig ingekopt door een verdediger van Xinix en een harde schuiver van Stan leverde de 3-1 uitslag op. Nikx aan de hand, lekkere pot op een fabuleuze grasmat, sympathieke tegenstander: voldoende te genieten voor het weer in grote getalen opgekomen publiek.

Met gruwelijke spierpijn op weg naar Loon op Zand. Op een veld bij Uno Animo speelden we tegen FC de Krollen. Tegenstander in een oranjeblauw en wij in ons groenzwart onder een vroeg zonnetje.

1 van onze spitsen was aanwezig, maar die begon aan de andere kant van de zijlijn, waardoor er een plaastje voor mij in de spits was weggelegd. Altijd lekker, beetje sjouwen, afjagen en de verdediging bezig houden. Stan riep nog in wanhoop “Oh nee hè…” maar gelukkig kreeg ik hem met een lekker sprintje en fijn goaltje buitenkantjerechts tot zwijgen. Ik zeg het niet graag van mezelf, daarom quote ik To: “Een goeie, zelfverzekerde goal…”.

De 1-1 viel daarna te vroeg, kansen aan beide kanten maar geen van de twee partijen kwam tot scoren in die eerste helft. In de rust onder het genot van een bakkie thee onze zonden overdacht en na rust de eer weer aan spits Tim gegeven (op het gemakkie op rechtsback gepeeld). De spierpijn zat inmiddels in mijn hele rug, dus dat was lekker.

Dat we uiteindelijk heel lullig de punten weggaven door twee frommelgoals was een dompertje… 3-1 verlies was niet nodig geweest… Na een 6-1 verlies vorige week (goal van Wout, ondergetekende was er niet bij) moeten we volgende week weer vol aan de bak… Thuis om 1100 uur tegen Xinix wordt er uit een ander Vaa(r)tje getapt!

Nog maar net in café ‘t Vaartje aangekomen of we horen dat onze tegenstander VOK met 8 a 9 man zal afreizen naar Dongen-Vaart. Niet uit arrogantie, maar uit armoe, te weinig spelers voorhanden. Wij hadden echter de beschikking over een extra linkshalf en keeper zodat we 11 tegen 11 zonder scheidsrechter, lijnrechters, vierde, vijfde en zesde official aan de wedstrijd begonnen. De winnaars van de meet en greet waren aanwezig (het juiste antwoord was Stan) en het fluitsignaal klonk door onze rechtsbuiten.

De eerste helft ging goed tegen elkaar op, na enig aftasten ontvlamde de wedstrijd. Als ik me goed herinner stond het 3-1 bij rust en 10-2 bij het eindsignaal. Wat kan je zeggen van deze monsterscore, welke ik vanaf de linksbackpositie tot stand heb zien komen? In totaal kwamen zeven doelpunten op het conto van een Stan, tweemaal (”O.K.B.”) Hans en eenmaal Ron. Vermeldenswaardig is dat de Stan met het minste hoofdhaar nu zeven doelpunten heeft gemaakt in drie wedstrijden, een mooi moyenne. Verder is de confrontatie tussen de broertjes in het voordeel van de keepende broer uitgevallen.

De winnaars van de meet en greet waren zo opgelaten dat ze zelfs bij de tegengoals uit hun dak gingen. Voor de volgende thuiswedstrijd op 11 oktober tegen Xinix zijn weer vrijplaatsen (staanplaatsen) te winnen voor degene die weet wat de volledige naam is van de voetbalclub waar ik Hans knipogend mee in verband breng.
